Face to Face and Telehealth Sessions
We warmly offer our services in two convenient ways: face to face and telehealth (where suitable).
Whether you're in a rural and remote area or simply prefer the comfort of your own space, you can access our support through a secure Telehealth platform using your Mental Health Treatment Plan.
Prior to your session, we will provide you with all the necessary information to access Telehealth services, ensuring you're well-prepared for your sessions. You'll also have the opportunity to sign a consent form for telehealth services, assuring your comfort and understanding.
Please remember that your well-being is our priority. If Adi believes that face-to-face sessions would enhance your treatment, we will openly discuss this with you and create a personalised support plan together.
About Telehealth
Here at Adi psychology, we believe in harnessing the convenience and versatility of Telehealth to bring you exceptional psychology services. Telehealth utilizes the wonders of the Internet and mobile devices to connect with you seamlessly. Through videoconferencing, phone calls, emails, and user-friendly apps, Adi and our dedicated team ensure that therapy fits into your lifestyle effortlessly.
While it may feel a bit unusual at first, rest assured that the process becomes second nature in no time. We understand that seeing yourself on screen or sharing your thoughts remotely can be concerns, but our experience has shown that the opposite holds true.
The Advantages of Telehealth Let's explore the numerous benefits telehealth offers:
Access sessions at your convenience, tailored to your schedule
Save time and energy by eliminating travel requirements
Enjoy comparable outcomes to in-person sessions
Your Privacy
We prioritize your privacy and take every precaution to safeguard your confidential information. To maintain the utmost security, we refrain from using platforms like Facetime or WhatsApp. Instead, we employ web-based video conferencing systems with advanced features like end-to-end encryption. This encryption ensures that your communications remain secure by encrypting them with a digital code during transit.
Before We Begin
Creating the perfect space to enhance your privacy during sessions, we encourage you to find a quiet and private location for your consultation. Adi will do the same on her end. Wearing headphones can also contribute to a more intimate and focused experience.
Preparing for Your Telehealth Session
Here are a few helpful tips to make the most out of your Telehealth sessions:
Choose a well-lit and peaceful room for your session
Minimize background noise in your immediate surroundings
Set a gentle reminder on your phone a few minutes before your session begins
Take a quick bathroom break beforehand if needed
Have a refreshing drink within reach, like a glass of water or a cup of tea
Put your phone on silent mode to minimize distractions
Avoid engaging in other activities or answering calls/messages during your session
Get comfortable and relax as you would for an in-person session
Speak clearly, using your natural voice volume, and maintain eye contact with the camera.
Joining Your Telehealth Session
At the scheduled time, simply click on the meeting link provided to you. Follow any on-screen prompts, such as starting the session or granting access to your camera and microphone. Telehealth sessions are conducted in the same supportive manner as our face-to-face sessions. If you're new to telehealth, the first session will involve getting to know you better and understanding your goals.
Telehealth for Children and Adolescents
As our services include supporting children and young people, we have some specific guidelines to ensure smooth sessions:
For all appointments, we kindly request that a parent be available if needed. Checking in with parents is a standard practice, even in face-to-face sessions.
To ensure safety and support, we ask that a responsible adult remains present at home during sessions.
Adi will inform you if your presence is required in the room, as younger children may need some adult assistance during certain activities.
Prior to the session, please set up a quiet and private space for your child or young person, away from siblings and distractions.
Depending on the creative activities we engage in, you may be asked to provide simple resources like markers, paper, pens etc. Please prepare these materials in advance.
Addressing Technical Hiccups
We understand that technical difficulties can occasionally arise. Here are some common problems and their solutions:
If you can't hear Adi, ensure that the speaker volume on your device is turned up.
If Adi can't hear you, please check that your microphone is not muted and that your volume is set appropriately.
Slow internet speed and low bandwidth may cause temporary drop-outs or lag. Rest assured, these issues are beyond our control.
In case you're unable to connect, it may indicate an internet connection problem. Please check your WiFi connection and close any other programs using the internet.
If connection troubles persist, Adi will reach out to you via phone call.
Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about your telehealth experience. We're here to ensure your journey with Adi is as warm, comforting, and effective as possible
